A 2 days Serengeti safari is one of the quickest ways to witness the Great Wildebeest Migration. This short safari takes you through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and into the Serengeti National Park, where millions of wildebeests, zebras, and predators gather during the migration season. It’s ideal for travelers who want fast access to the migration herds, thrilling game drives, and unforgettable wildlife moments in just two days.
The location of the Great Wildebeest Migration changes throughout the year. From December to March, the herds gather in the Ndutu area for the dramatic calving season. Between June and July, they move through the central Serengeti, and from July to October the wildlife action shifts to the northern Serengeti for the famous river crossings. Because the Serengeti is such a vast park, we recommend a minimum of 2 days to truly experience its wildlife and landscapes.
This 2-day Serengeti safari follows the movement of the herds based on your travel dates, ensuring you enjoy unforgettable game drives, incredible wildlife sightings, and the very best of the Serengeti. Adding an extra day can make your safari even more rewarding, giving you additional time for game drives, photography, and a deeper connection with this iconic African wilderness.
Your 2-day Serengeti safari begins with an early morning pickup from your hotel in Arusha. After meeting your guide, you’ll board your safari jeep and start the 4–5 hour drive toward the Serengeti, passing through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. You’ll enjoy a packed lunch inside the park and continue with afternoon game drives, searching for lions, elephants, giraffes, and big cats. In the late afternoon, you’ll head to your lodge or camp for dinner and an overnight stay.
Your second day starts with an early breakfast before heading out for morning game drives in the Serengeti. This is the perfect time to search for predators in action and, depending on the season, witness the Great Migration herds. After several hours of wildlife viewing, you will begin your journey back to Arusha, passing through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. You’ll enjoy your packed lunch along the way and continue toward the city, arriving at around 7:00 PM—marking the end of your 2 days Serengeti safari.
