It’s Savannah attracts the African wild dog, Nyasaland wildebeest, Cape buffalo, Selous zebras, Lichtenstein hartebeest, large groups of hippos, crocodiles, and huge herds of elephants.

High Season

Dry season (June-October) is that the best time for game viewing.
When it is dry, animals congregate around Selous’s rivers and lakes. Vegetation thins out during the dry season, making it easier to spot animals.

Attractions embrace boat safaris on the Rufiji river, birding, walking safaris, and fly-camping journeys.
Boating safaris set Selous apart from other national parks in Tanzania. It is also quieter than other Tanzanian national parks.
