7 Days Tanzania Shared Safari – Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival.
Arrive Arusha – stay overnight at Arusha Planet Lodge
Day 2: Arusha to Tarangire National Park.
Drive from Arusha to Tarangire National Park for a game drive, Tarangire is the sixth largest national park covers an area of approximately 2,850 square kilometers. Tarangire national park is famous for its huge number of elephants, baobab trees and tree climbing African pythons. Overnight at Kigongoni campsite.
Day 3: Tarangire to Serengeti National Park.
Morning drive to the Serengeti National Park, via Olduvai Gorge (Millions of years ago, the site was that of a large lake, the shores of which were covered with successive deposits of volcanic ash. The Serengeti National Park covers 14,763 km² (5,700 square miles) of grassland plains and savanna as well as forest and woodlands. The park lies in the north of the country bordered to the north between Tanzania and Kenyan border, where it is continuous with the Masai Mara National Park Reserve. Stay overnight at Seronera Campsite.
Day 4: Serengeti National Park.
Full day game driving in Serengeti, the endless plains, almost treeless grassland of the south is the most emblematic scenery of the park. Hoofed animals – zebra, gazelle, impala, hartebeest, topi, buffalo, and waterbuck also occur in huge numbers through out the year. Stay the second night at Ikoma Bush Campsite
Day 5: Serengeti to Ngorongoro Crater.
Morning game drive from Serengeti then drives to the southeast of the Park to Ngorongoro Conservation Area. The crater is one of the most amazing sights in the world to be seen anywhere. Overnight at Simba Public Campsite with the fascinating view of the sunken volcano.
Day 6: Ngorongoro to Lake Manyara National Park.
Descend into the Ngorongoro Crater for crater tour. This is world heritage site, the incomparable Ngorongoro Crater is the world’s largest “caldera”. Dominated by cliffs standing 600m high and presenting a sheer drop down to a wide open space of some 250 square km, and you may see everything from elephant, lion, and if you’re lucky you can spot the black rhino, all among large herds of zebra and wildebeest. Afternoon exit the crater and drive to Jambo Campsite for overnight just outside Lake Manyara National Park.
Day 7: Lake Manyara to Arusha.
After a leisure breakfast – drive inside Lake Manyara National Park for a game drive, Lake Manyara is a shallow freshwater lake in Tanzania. It is the “loveliest (lake) in Africa,” Lake Manyara is covering 127 square miles (329 km2) of Lake Manyara National Park, the lake’s alkaline waters cover approximately 89 square miles (231 km2).
It is famous for a good number of baboons and bird life, also home to herbivores such as buffalo, hippos, impalas, wildebeests, elephants, warthogs, and giraffes, giant fig trees and mahogany can be seen in the groundwater forest immediately around the park gate. Afternoon drive back to Arusha town overnight at Arusha Planet Lodge. This will be our end of 7 Days Tanzania Shared Safari.
